CHAPTER ONE – THE BEGINNING

I was never the girl who asked for toys. I asked for jewellery. Even as a little girl, I'd stand in front of shop windows and stare at beautiful pieces — necklaces catching the light, earrings that made everything feel more elegant — and I would just dream.

There was something about jewellery that felt like more than decoration. It felt like armour. Like confidence. Like a quiet way of saying I showed up for myself today. That feeling never left me.

I was living and working in France as a pastry chef. Every day surrounded by beauty — the food, the architecture, the way Parisians moved through the world with effortless, quiet confidence.

I walked through Galeries Lafayette. I sat in cafés. I wandered streets that looked like paintings. And somehow — I had stopped wearing my own jewellery.

"At some point I stopped wearing my jewellery. And started managing it."

One afternoon at a café — exhausted, four still on my hands — I noticed the woman at the next table. Simple linen dress. The most delicate gold chain. Two thin bangles. Nothing overdone.

She wasn't going anywhere special. She was just having coffee. And she looked like art. She understood she was the occasion. I went home and that question became GoldenHues.
